2006-2007 Accomplishments • Guided merger of The University of Toledo (UT) Foundation and Medical University of Ohio (MUO) Foundation, effective July 1, 2007. 2. Developed university mission, vision, and values statements and strategic directions document; established on-going process for strategic planning. 3. Led State of Ohio in improving accessibility of higher education by establishing concept of moratorium on tuition increase.
2006-2007 Accomplishments • Worked with RGP on Entrepreneurial Signature Program (ESP) Grant that brought $15 million to Northwest Ohio for Economic Development 5. Obtained grants from the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) for Science and Technology Corridor: • South end - infrastructure • North end - R2 building • Guided Science and Technology Corridor: • Reformulated goals and mission • Restructured operations • Developed and inked agreement with RGP for the “attraction function” of the Corridor

2006-2007 Accomplishments 9. Re-defined and energized building program: • Memorial Field House • Stranahan Hall • Gillham Hall • Savage Hall • Introduced concept of Interest Based Bargaining (IBB) into negotiations with the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the Communications Workers of America (CWA). • Well into bargaining with AAUP
2006-2007 Accomplishments 11. Surpassed the national average for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 2 first-time taker pass rate; lead State of Ohio for pass rate of 1st time takers of Bar Exam. 12. Assisted NWO Legislation Delegation in establishment of Graduate Medical Education (GME )Commission on the future of medical education and health care in Northwest Ohio with mandated report, April 2008. 13. Formulated and established relationship with St Luke’s Hospital as affiliate. Strengthened and/or re-formulated relationships with all affiliates.
2006-2007 Accomplishments 14. Led The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) to year of largest number of admissions ever, largest number of transplants ever. 15. Installed Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) on the HSC nearly eliminating the use of conventional radiology and cardiology films
2006-2007 Accomplishments • Established that alleged behaviors in Athletic Department were sporadic, not indigenous. 17. Reorganized the Enrollment Office which resulted in an increase in Fall 2007 enrollment. • Worked with Institutional Advancement for over 200 alumni events across the U.S. 19. Moved Capital Campaign to $78.5 million against $100 million goal
