  1. Notary Attestation from Kerala Notary attestation is an important authentication procedure to use your documents overseas for various purposes. It is the first basic procedure to get your personal certificates attested from the state where the document was issued. For attesting the personal documents issued from the state of Kerala, you need to legalize the document from an authorized Notary followed by the Kerala state Home department attestation. Notary attestation is done before attesting your documents from the state Home department. The main purpose of Notary attestation is to legalize the document to prove its authenticity. In the notary attestation process, the documents are legalized by an authorized notary with a stamp and signature. Without the notary attestation, you cannot do the State Home attestation. Notary attestation is mandatory to authenticate the documents for further authentication processes like MEA Attestation [Ministry of External Affairs attestation], and Embassy attestation. Notary attestation is done for personal documents like birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate, non-government recognized educational documents, death certificate, power of attorney, etc. Attestation of personal documents from an authorized Notary helps to prove that the document is not forged and avoids the issue of misrepresentation of documents.

  2. If the certificate holder is unable to attest the personal documents from the Notary and Home department of the concerned state, then he/she can attest the document from the SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) attestation from Delhi.
