About SIC • The first-annual DGDW Social Investment Competition (SIC) is an all-day event that brings together top MBA students, socially minded entrepreneurs and social venture capitalists in which MBA students and entrepreneurs go through the entire investment process in an extremely condensed time period while being judged and moderated by the investors.

  4. About SIC • 6 student teams will replicate social investment activity by considering 5 investments in early-stage companies. They will • Review 5 business plans in 48 hours. • Conduct due-diligence sessions with entrepreneurs, providing their rationale for investment consideration or disregard. • Choose one firm for which they will perform valuation, set social impact KPIs and create an executive summary and term-sheet which they will negotiate with the entrepreneur • 10 partner-level representatives of 10 top Global social venture capital firms will be present during the process and act as judges considering: • The teams’ identification of the critical issues and ability to build rapport with the entrepreneurs during the due-diligence sessions • The teams’ term sheet negotiation with the selected entrepreneur
