  2. Isotopen-onderzoek Stabiele isotopen van zuurstof: 16O 99,760 % 17O 0,037 % 18O 0,203 % Verhouding isotopen in waterdamp en calciet is afhankelijk van temperatuur; hoe kouder hoe minder zware isotopen (18O).

  3. Isotopen-onderzoek Ten behoeve van metingen is vergelijking nodig met een standaard: 18O/16O sample - 18O/16O standard 18O = ------------------------------------------------. 103o/oo 18O/16O standard
