The Antioch Church: A Model for Mission and Ministry (Acts 13:1-3)

Explore the dynamic life of the Antioch Church as depicted in Acts 13:1-3. This ethnically diverse congregation served as a prophetic, teaching, worshiping, and praying community dedicated to the Lord. As they fasted and prayed, the Holy Spirit set apart Barnabas and Saul for mission work, highlighting the church's role in sending and supporting workers for the harvest. This review emphasizes the church's responsibilities in attracting, feeding, protecting, and sending believers, all while embracing a missionary priority in every aspect of life.

  5. Romans 10:13-15 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?

  6. Matthew 9:35-38 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
