  3. What if you were the product? What do you need to know to sell yourself? What would your customers want? Why are some products regarded more highly than others?   5. What is a brand? Trust & Reputation • Why is it so important? • What makes up a brand? • What are the most important things that a brand creates for a consumer?

Brand Definition • A brand is a mixture of attributes, tangible and intangible, symbolized in a trademark, which, if managed properly, creates value and influence. • "Value" has different interpretations: from a marketing or consumer perspective it is "the promise and delivery of an experience"; from a business perspective it is "the security of future earnings." • Brands offer customers a means to choose and enable recognition within cluttered markets.

The 4 P’s • Passion – intense, driving, or overmastering feeling and conviction driven by your interests • Purpose – deep motivation, beyond ego and financial self-interest, that serves as one’s locus of control, Where your passion adds value to society! • Preparation – process and action of making something ready for use or service; getting ready for some occasion, test or duty • Performance – the execution of an action, something accomplished

  12. Life Map • Sketch a timeline map of your life, noting key events, people and places that were/are most important in shaping you, your Passion(s) and Purpose.

Life Map (cont’d) Discussion … • Did you stop at the present or continue into the future? • What were the major events and accomplishments in your life? • What was (is/will be) most important to you? • Who are the most important individuals, or influencers, in your life? • Why were these issues and people so important to you? • What are you passionate (or enthusiastic) about? • What character traits and values have you consistently demonstrated in your lifetime?

  15. Life Purpose Statements • To attain a strong balance between personal life and work while working hard to achieve my goals. I will do things in an ethical way so that I can be proud of what I accomplish. I will continue to learn and further my education throughout my life. In my career, I will help companies operate more efficiently by solving challenging problems. • To develop myself as an asset for those around me and become a valued problem solver and innovator. Above all, I wish to be set apart from the multitude of other workers as an esteemed individual, while still being a prized team player.
