  2. Baxter What You Will Need: USB Flash Drive Dollar Bill Clear Office Tape Small Toolkit (Small Flat Screwdriver Should Do) Patience

  3. Baxter Disclaimer: For this tutorial we will use a SandiskCruzer, if you have any type of Sandisk Flash Drive, this tutorial should work for you. Modifying any electronic device includes some form of risk. Any data on the drive should be backed up. You should also keep the original case, you might need it. Flash drives are resilient and pretty hard to break, but if you do happen to break it in the process, don’t shoot the messenger.

  5. Baxter Step #1 Crack open the case: Every USB is different, some are harder to open then others. Opening a USB can be risky so first, back up any data before you open it. Find any ridges along the casing and work the small screwdriver into them, keep doing this until all you have is a small PCB with a USB connector.

  6. Baxter Step #2 Fold the bill in half lengthwise.

  7. Baxter Step #3 Fold the two sides into the center lengthwise.

  8. Baxter Step #4 Add the flash drive under one flap and over the other an inch from one end.

  9. Baxter Step #5 Fold the short end over the drive.

  10. Baxter Step #6 Wrap the long end of the bill tightly until the bill is completely wrapped around the drive. WARNING: DO NOT CUT THE BILL, IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE CUT.

  11. Baxter Step #7 Line tape up to the top left corner of the drive and wrap it around the drive twice.

  12. Baxter Step #8 Line tape up to the bottom left corner of the drive and wrap it around the drive twice.

  13. Baxter Step #9 Line the tape up with the top of the new case, then wrap it around the bottom end of the drive and continue on to the next step.

  14. Baxter Step #10 Cut the tape to size and press it to the flash drive.

  15. Baxter Done! Your new USB flash drive cover is complete! Hold on to the old plastic cover cause you might need your dollar back some day!
