  2. Guns Should Be Locked Up • “In Florida, two young boys found a shotgun under a bed in their grandparents' home. A six year old pulled the trigger, and a five year old fell dead. • In Illinois, two teens found a handgun in their grandmother's apartment. The gun went off in the hands of a sixteen-year-old boy, killing his fifteen-year-old cousin. • In Michigan, a six-year-old boy found a handgun in a shoebox at the house where he was staying with an uncle. He took the gun to school, pulled it out of his pocket, and shot a girl in his first-grade class. She died on the way to the hospital. “

Guns Should Be Locked Up • “In Columbine 2 kids went to school a semiautomatic rifle, two sawed-off shotguns, a handgun, and dozen of homemade bombs.” • “They killed twelve fellow students and one teacher, plus wounding several others.” • They also killed themselves • Cho Seung-Huia senior at Virginia Tech killed 32 people and wounded 25 and killed himself • Two students and one teacher killed, one other wounded when 14-year-old male student opened fire on his algebra class. • 16 children and one teacher killed at Dunblane Primary School by Thomas H., who then killed himself. 10 others wounded in attack.

Preventing shootings • Raise the minimum age for possessing a handgun to twenty-one, and also make that the minimum age for possessing an assault weapon. • Prohibit gun sales to people over eighteen who committed violent crimes before turning eighteen; such people are not covered by the current prohibition on gun sales to felons. • Ask more questions to people buying the gun, and check up on there history. • Have gun locks on your guns so kids at home cant accidently shot each other. • People who buy a gun should have to wait a week to get it so if there mad and want to kill someone they have to wait and might not want to kill the person anymore also if they want to commit suicide they have to wait and might change there mind.

  6. In Conclusion • Many needless injuries and deaths wouldn’t occur if gun owners would take more responsibility and make sure their guns are locked up safely in their homes • Both the NRA and the anti gun supporters would agree that locking your guns up for safety is the right thing to do
