  2. How it forms The warm heat rises (updraft), cool air goes down (downdraft). The warm air swirls while the cool air goes down.

  3. What Should You Do When a Tornado Happens? You should find shelter , if you don’t, find a ditch on the ground and cover your head , or find a bathroom.

  4. Tornado Facts (Fujita Scale) F0- very low damage(40-72 mph) F1-uproot some trees(73-112 mph) F2-blow roofs off(113-157 mph) F3-severe damage, flatten trees(158-206 mph) F4-break tree trunk in half(207-260 mph) F5-lift house and bring it somewhere else(261 mph and up)

  5. About a Tornado When a funnel touches the ground, it is called a tornado. If a funnel touches the water, it is called a water sprout.

  6. HOW WIDE AND HOW LONG? A typical tornado is about 400 to 500 ft. wide. A supercell(a bigger , massive tornado) Is about a mile wide.

  7. Its shape It is a funnel shaped object, it is like a strong vacuum.

  8. Watches and warnings Each year, thousands of tornado`s touch down in the United States. The best protection from a tornado is an early warning.

  9. How fast and how far A tornado can last an hour and can travel more than 200 miles along the ground.
