  2. Final Presentation This is what we did.

  3. Volcano Tyler prepared a demonstration of a Volcano eruption.

  4. Volcano Demonstration

  5. Volcano Demonstration Video

  6. Volcano With the use of Baking Soda and Vinegar the volcano erupts.

  7. Materials Used for Volcano Demo. • Cardboard • Paint (Choose Your own Color) • Volcano kit from Hobby Lobby ( works great but you can also make your own out of plaster of Paris by forming it into a volcano shape with a center hole) • Vinegar • Baking Soda • Any extra pictures or diorama you want to use to make the volcano look real and fun.

  8. Volcano Activity • To make the simulation of a volcano erupting, simply put baking soda in the volcano hole. Add vinegar and a chemical reaction takes place and the volcano will erupt. You can add food color or even paint to give it some color.

  9. Tornado/Hurricane Video

  10. Check website for videos of the Tornado/ Hurricane demonstration. • http://faculty.nwacc.edu/EAST_original/Fall%202010/Physical%20Science/Disasters/disasters.htm

  11. Materials used for tornado/ hurricane demonstration. • Cardboard • Duck tape • Plexiglas • Dry ice • Warm water in a beaker • Hot plate • Fan

  12. Tornado/Hurricane Activity • Build a 12” X 12” box with at least two windows of Plexiglas. In all four sides put at least a ¾” slit in opposite sides from the other. • After built heat the hot plate and put hot water in a pan and place on the hot plate. • Place a good size piece of dry ice in the pan. • Place the box structure around the hot plate. • Let a cloud form. • Place a fan on top of the box with a low speed. • The cloud will start to rotate in a counter clockwise direction forming a simulation of a tornado/hurricane.
