Horseshoe Skill Test Davis Stephenson
Purpose: the skill being tested is throwing the horseshoe at the stake. Students will demonstrate proper techniques such as stepping in opposition, holding the horseshoe, and the release, also whether or not the shot is a ringer or a counter. • Instructions: students will perform a pitch of a horseshoe. They will be allowed five tries to demonstrate the above techniques and outcome of the pitch. • Scoring procedure: the test is worth a total of 80 points. The process and the product will be added together to get the total. The process is worth 50 % of the grade and the product is worth 40 %. They will receive a score of 10 if they do it correctly 4-5 times 6 if they do it correctly 2-3 times and 3 points if they do it correctly 0-1 times. On the product they will receive 6 points if it is a ringer , 5 if it is a counter ,4 if it lands in the pit, and 1 if they attempt it. • Equipment: horseshoes, pit, and stake for the assessment.
