  3. Q What is digestive system?A: System that helps us to digest food is called digestive system.

  4. QWhat is digestion?A: The breaking down of food into simpler substances that can be absorbed by our blood is called digestion.

  5. Q What are nutrients?A: The food we eat must be broken into simpler substances called nutrients.

  6. Q How long is our digestive system path?A: It is around seven meters long. It starts from mouth and ends at the anus.

  7. Q Name the organs that are involved in the digestive system in order.A: a) Mouth b) Gullet (esophagus / food pipe) c) Stomach d) Small intestine e) Large intestine f) Rectum g) Anus

  9. Q What happens to the food in mouth?A: a) Incisors = cut the food into small pieces. b) Canine = tear and hold food like forksc) Molars = Crush and grind the food. d) Tongue = mixes food with saliva and shape it into small balls.

  11. Q What happens to the food in stomach?A: a) Food stays in stomach for 2 – 5 hours. b) Food mixes with some digestive juices.c) Food turns into soup like form. d) Here partial digestion takes place. e) Soup like food enters small intestine.
