  5. How do we raise RigOr? • Raise the level of content • Increase complexity • Give appropriate support and guidance • Open your focus • Raise expectations Barbara Blackburn

  6. Read for Rigor • In your content groups, draw a grade band literacy standard. • Read the standard as it progresses from 6th to 12th grade. • Identify the increases in rigor. • Discuss how a teacher might plan for the specified level of rigor at his or her grade level.
