Mission Statement & 3 Mantras • Mission Statement: The goal of the Rock Canyon High School Lacrosse Program is to shape our student athletes from boys into young men who positively contribute and change society. The Lacrosse Program’s Three Mantras: Class • Respect on and off of the field by treating others how you want to be treated Heart • Commitment to consistently trying to do to your best on and off of the field Team • Trusting in that one looks out for the well-being of the team and program on and off of the field Coach Goldin 4

  5. Player Code of Conduct • 1. I will accept responsibility for my behavior on and off the field. I understand that what I do and say affects my teammates, my school, and other people in the community either positively or negatively. • 5. I will act with empathy. I will try to understand what is going on in the hearts and minds of others and what is causing those feelings so that I can be supportive and encouraging. I will ask, “How can I help you?” • 13. Because I understand being a member of the team is a privilege and not a right, I accept responsibility for my actions on and off the field. I will conduct myself in accordance with our Player’s Code of Conduct. Coach Diehl 6

Grades • Out of season • Grades are due in Coach Goldin’s room (3400) • Grades are due monthly • Must have a C or higher in every class to participate in off season • Final semester grade must be C or higher in every class or player will miss game(s) • During the season • Grade and behavior checks are performed every other week Coach Bogard 7

  7. Earning a Varsity Letter Option 1 • Make the Varsity team in the spring & remain on Varsity the entire season Option 2 • Individual is brought up from JV before seven games have been played and remains on Varsity for the rest of the season Lacrosse is a cut program. All players must try out and players may be cut from the program, even seniors. Coach Chancellor

Community Service • 20 hours must be completed by the end of the previous lacrosse season. • Returning players must have all of their hours done and handed into the office seven days prior to the first day of tryouts. • All new players to the program have until the end of spring break to get their hours done. Community Service forms are due February 11 z Coach Baker 9

Contracts & Driving Consent Form • This paperwork is due at the start of the off-season that a player participates in • Fall contracts are due by 9/10/12 • If a player does not participate in the off-season, then this paperwork is due prior to tryouts • All paperwork is due to Coach Goldin during access Coach Baker 10

Dress Code • For all games (unless informed by the head coach of that particular squad) every player is expected to wear “game day attire” to school and to the game. • Game day attire consists of: -Button down collared shirt tucked in, top button of shirt is buttoned -Neck tie is fully tied and tightened up to the top button -Belt -Khakis or slacks -Socks -Dress shoes Coach Bogard 11

Web Page Info & Texting • It is mandatory for every player to sign up as a member on the web page and complete all the required information • Through the webpage and texting service players and parents receive updates and notifications. It also serves as the primary form of communication between the parent information network and the parent pool • Coaching staff communicates through the web page and texting service to players, teams and parents. This allows for streamlined communication to reach players and parents. • The website serves as the area where all information, forms and updates can be posted in one place. How to Join the Web Page • In order to become a member, go to the web site at www.rockcanyonlax.com. Once there, on the yellow menu bar click “register.” • Select the season you wish to register for and follow the instructions. All parent and player contact information needs to be completed. 16

  33. Parent Team Building: Goals • Mission • Winning youth sports programs rely on strong communities of success. Part of any community of success is strong parent involvement. A brief, focused sport-parent team building session can help teams coordinate all of their resources and build towards achieving their goals. • Goals • Develop unity among the team’s parents • Identify specific ways that parents can support the team’s goals • Help parents and coaches work together to foster a culture of excellence. 34

How to Join Off Season Varsity • Players on varsity last year are already on the off-season varsity squad • Individuals not on the 2012 Varsity squad must email Coach Goldin by 9/8 to ask for permission to join the varsity off-season varsity squad.  Coach Goldin will email back a response.
