  4. Unit Questions • What are the important patterns in my chosen music? • Why did Mozart write this music? • Did Mozart’s world have any influence on what he wrote? • How does this information help me interpret Mozart’s music?

  5. State Standards • (6.1) Perception. The student describes and analyzes musical sound and demonstrates musical artistry. • (6.2) Creative expression/performance. The student sings or plays an instrument, individually or in groups, performing a varied repertoire of music. • (6.5) The student relates music to history,to society, and to culture.

  6. Sample Activities • Analyze musical patterns in Mozart’s music • Present information about Mozart and his world using Power Point • Perform Mozart’s music in concert

  7. Evaluation • Rubric for scoring analysis of music • Oral presentation, with rubric, about the piece of music to be performed, using Power Point or other presentation program • Performance of a work by Mozart • Recording of the performance onto CD
