  3. You belong to your father, the devil … He was a murder from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

  4. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15

  5. … you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32 … if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12

  6. Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. The devil said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.’ Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone.” Luke 4:1-4

  7. Scam #1: Obedience … are you sure that’s how you will be satisfied?

  8. The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all their authority and splendour; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.’ Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.” Luke 4:5-8

  9. Scam #2: Cosmology … who really controls the universe?

  10. The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘“He will command his angels concerning you    to guard you carefully;they will lift you up in their hands,    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” 12 Jesus answered, ‘It is said: “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” Luke 4:9-12

  11. Scam #3: Identity … will God really treat you like a son?

  12. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 1:13-14… 2:15
