  12. GCSE Grades 5 or more ‘good passes’ including English and maths are needed for A-level study

Main Exams during Year 10 October • English Controlled Assessment • Science Controlled Assessment Jan • ICT unit 1 exam (Cambridge Nationals only) • Science unit 1 exams (B1,C1,P1) • English Controlled Assessment April • English Controlled Assessment June • Science unit 2 exams (B2,C2,P2) • Triple science exams in Chemistry or Biology TBC • Internal trial exams in most subjects Plus other controlled assessments in many subjects, the results of which, count towards final GCSE grades Note: Early entry in maths and English in November of Year 11
