  1. Why Do We Celebrate Diwali? • The Victory of Lord Rama: On the new moon day of Kartik month, Lord Ram, Ma Sita, and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya after defeating the king of Lanka Ravana. • Nirvana of Mahavir Tirthankar: Tirthankar Mahavirattained his nirvana on the day of Diwali and so Diwali is considered a special day for Jains. • Red-Letter Day for Sikhs: The third Sikh Guru Amar Das endowed Diwali as a Red-Letter Day when all Sikhs would gather to receive the Gurus blessings.  • The Birthday of Goddess Lakshmi: According to mythology, Goddess Lakshmi was first incarnated on the Amavasya of the Kartik month during Samudra-Manthan. • Coronation of King Vikramaditya: One of the greatest kings of India history- Vikramaditya was crowned on the day of Diwali, and so this day also holds historical significance.

  4. Food Recipe's for Diwali:

  5. Dates and Nuts Ladoo: In a shallow pan, roast 1/4 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, peanuts) on medium heat for a few minutes and set them aside. In a pan, cook 20-25 large seedless dates till they are soft. Roast desiccated coconut for few seconds as well. In a blender, blend the dates and then add all the nuts.  Now take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls. Roll them in desiccated coconut to give it an appealing look. You can add sugar if you like more sweet taste.

  6. Hara Bhara Kebab: In a pan, boil 100g peas, 50g spinach, salt, and 1tsp sugar. Now roast cumin seeds and coriander seeds. In a blender jar, add 3tsp garlic, 3tsp ginger, 1 green chili, 3-4 coriander leaves, and the roasted coriander and cumin seeds. In a large bowl, take boiled potatoes, add Salt to taste, 1tsp Chaat masala, the paste, ½ cup bread crumbs, ¼ cup cornflour, and 1 lemon. Mix them properly. Now take a small portion and make round balls and then press it to give it a shape like a disk. Take a pan with some oil and put these disks into it for frying. Fry till they are brownish. Serve hot with garnishing of Chaat masala, chutney, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, and lemon.

Cherry and Ginger Ice Tea In a bowl, all the ingredients i.e., 2 tbsp vanilla syrup, 2 tbsp sugar, 3 ml of ginger juice, 75 ml of cherry juice, 10 ml of lime juice, and 25 ml of grapefruit juice. Now take a highball glass and add ice. Strain the mixture over the ice. Garnish with ginger and cherry.
