SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES Agro-Industry… • HALAL POULTRY PROJECT • Progress: • > 1,575 MT/month of halal poultry confirmed by Dubai and Bahrain • > Brunei searching for investment in slaughterhouse, feed mill and hatchery • > Investment mission identified partners for slaughterhouse and feed mill • in Zamboanga • > 4 poultry farms in Kuching for certification • > Certifier’s conference to be held by Brunei in 2008 • > EAGA as a test bed for implementation of harmonized standards for • halal industries – as proposed by GTZ EU-EAGA Biztech Partnership
