  6. What is PBL? • McMaster University, Canada, 1960’

  7. HKU What is PBL? • PBL is any learning environment in which the problem drives the learning • That is, before students learn some knowledge they are given a problem. The problem is posed so that the students discover that they need to learn some new knowledge before they can solve the problem

  8. PBL Purpose • Professional knowledge 专业知识 • Self-directed learning 自主学习 • Critical thinking 思辩能力 • Communication skills 交流技能 • Team-work spirit 团队精神

  17. Author’s info: address, telephone, e-mail, etc. Title should be a regenral sentence or term Abstract: a very brief description of the case Purposes: make sure it has integrated with ethics, medical law, and humanity issues

  18. Class & session sequences Explanations: facilitate tutors to prepare the toturial Case description: try to use more image, video, audio information Questions we want students to discuss

  20. 案例描述 • 医生询问胡先生的病史,并做眼科检查,发现胡先生左眼分泌物增多,角膜周围充血,角膜光泽消失、透明度减低,初步诊断为急性角膜炎 • 讨论问题 • 何谓角膜炎?其致病原因有几类? • 角膜炎如何分类?按病理变化分几类?结合本病例分析其类别和病理变化
