Welcome to Regina Primary School - Year Highlights and Learning Overview

Hello, I'm Jos Huese, and I'm excited to share my third year at Regina Primary School! With four years of teaching in Holland, I bring a passion for education. Our teaching methods include Taal Actief for reading and spelling, Estafette for technical reading, and Alles Telt for math. We focus on positive behavior support and student well-being, allowing children to excel at their own levels.   1. Welcome • Hello,I’m Jos Huese and this is my third year at the Regina Primary School.I have worked in Holland for four years as ateacher at different schools.Hobby’s; playing music/ (water)sports,going on vacation!

  4. How we work • Children are working at different levels –some children can work in another groupdepending the level their working at • ‘Well being’ – better developmentand emancipation • PBS- positive behavior support • EGO – ‘corners’ with a theme • Binder (23 rings) for sheets,homework etc.

  5. Possitive Behavior Support • Respect / Coorporation / Responsibility • In our class we use the ‘Tic Tac Toe- card’ to change behavior in a possitive way. • After a full card the children can choose a reward. • Children can see directly if theirbehavior is good, or can be better

To remember • Traffic exam; probably the first Tuesday in June • Book report • Presentation • Thursday: GymGym starts at 8.25am - The children can come in their gymoutfit but they need to walk with their normal uniform in order for them to change after • Friday: Dym (uniform+ gymoutfit) • Healthy lunch (water/juice/fruit) • Extended ours (extra lunch) • When your child is ill, please make a call

Homework • Every monday they get a spelling sheet;next Monday – spelling test • Every week ‘Redactiesommen’ (math exerciseswith context) • Topografie/Geographics – more information is coming • When the contract isn’t finished,they will have to finish it at home • See the planner for more homework • Check the site for homework + information

  8. How you can help? • Talk toyourchild, how was his/her dayandcantheyexplainwhat we didduring the day • Read withyourchild. Toimprove the dutch skills,readwithyourchildandpracticeplease • Whenyou have the feeling there’ssomething wrong,talk andtrytofind out the problem. Let me knowwhat’sgoing on so I cananticipate in advance. • Enjoy the time andplay, the kidsare making long days, so relax! • Fieldtrips – anysuggestions?
