  3. Practice: • Practice will be after school until 5:00, except for Wednesdays, practice will be over at 4:30. Please make arrangements to have players picked up in a timely manner. • Each player will be expected to be at every practice. A missed practice will result in missing one half of the next game, two missed practices will result in not playing the next game. • Athletes must have work-out clothes, shin-guards, cleats & flats for every practice. • Athletes may NOT go home with anyone else other than their parent/legal guardian.

Games: • Each athlete will wear the assigned uniform for each game. • Athletes will need to purchase socks from an athletic store (Academy, Sports Authority, etc.). • 8th grade: RED socks • 7th grade: WHITE socks • Team members are expected to have uniforms& socks for every game. • Athletes must have UIL appropriate shin guards. • Team members are free to go home after school but must be at Rice Field 45 minutes before home games.

  5. EQUIPMENT INFORMATION • YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING: • One jersey top • One pair of shorts • This equipment is property of MISD and must be returned. Your daughter will be required to replace any lost or damaged equipment per MISD policy.

  6. EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYERS • Pass all classes every six weeks • Be on time with all equipment • Be respectful to coaches, administrators, and teachers • Be a good teammate • Focus and Hustle • Be coach-able • Follow all MISD policies • Call/email when she will not be at practice

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE COACHES • To make decisions that are best for the team/program • To be honest with you and your daughter • To hold your daughter to a very high standard • To help develop your daughter physically, mentally, and emotionally • To teach your daughter life lessons through athletics

  8. PARENT/COACH RELATIONSHIPS AT MIDWAY Understanding and respecting the position of both parents and coaches will help enhance the athletic experience for our athletes.

  9. Appropriate Concerns to Discuss with the Coach • The coach’s interaction with your daughter • How the coach can help your daughter become a better athlete and student • Concerns about your daughter’s interactions with others

  10. AREAS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE COACH • TEAM STRATEGY • OTHER ATHLETES OR OTHER SITUATIONS NOT INVOLVING YOUR DAUGHTER • PLAYING TIME

  11. For a Conference Call Coach Anderson to set up an appointment Conferences may include other coaches or administrators Please do not attempt to confront a coach after a game or practice. Emotions are running too high and will not result in a positive resolution

Parent Code of Conduct • Love and support your child and the team, win or lose • Be realistic about your child’s abilities • Be positive and encouraging at all times • DO NOT COME TO THE FENCE, FIELD, or COURT DURING A GAME TO TALK TO YOUR SON • Respect the coach’s decisions and encourage others to do the same • Realize that we are in this together!

  13. Sport Specific Policies/Procedures • If a practice or game is cancelled, a message will be immediately posted on our website. The teams members will then be notified and allowed to contact a parent. • We will not have games or practices the day of a High School playoff game.
