  2. What is an LMIA ? A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is an official document that an employer in Canada may require before hiring a temporary worker. The LMIA is only valid for a specific role and must state the job title, location and hours of work. Once a foreign worker has been selected for a role, they are able to apply for a work permit. The completed LMIA will be sent to Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) who will assess the application based on merit. A successful outcome is known as a ‘positive LMIA’. www.vazirgroup.com
