2. New Work Permit Service Definition :- It is a service provided by the Ministry to any establishment wishing to employ an expatriate worker who has never worked before in a state Application Form New work permit application Conditions • Priority in filling vacancies shall be given to UAE and GCC nationals • It is required to have an electronic quota prior to issuing this type of permits, as there are two systems of submission based on the number of sponsored persons in the establishment as explained in the following table

New Work Permit Conditions • The worker required to be recruited shall not have a valid work permit / labour card • The passport of the required worker shall be valid for minimum 6 months • The worker shall not be below the age of 18 years • The profession assigned to the expatriate worker shall be commensurate with the establishment’s activities • The license of the establishment shall be valid and free from any violation • The authorized signatory shall hold an e-signature card N.B The work permit shall be valid for a period of 60 days, which may be extended six times provided the following • The approval fees and bank guarantee shall be paid within the 60 day validity period

New Work Permit N.B • AED 500 shall be paid for every 10 days to be calculated from the date of original expiry or the extended expiry date • If such fees and bank guarantee are not paid within 60 days, then the permit will be automatically cancelled. In such case, the customer shall resubmit the transaction Required Documents • A color photograph with a white background of the worker • A copy of the worker’s passport • If academic qualification is required (post secondary diploma, university degree or equivalent), a copy of there of which should be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall be attached • A letter of approval issued by the competent entity shall be attached if so required (physician, pharmacist, nurse, teacher)

New Work Permit Service Executive Steps • The new work permit application shall be printed and required documents shall be scanned • Fulfillment of the conditions shall be verified • In case of fulfilling the conditions and documents, the transaction will be executed. The customer can obtain the approval notice and number and can print the notice “Referring the transaction to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs” • Due fees and bank guarantee shall be paid • If there is something missing, the customer shall be notified there of to complete them by following the above – mentioned steps • The customer shall go to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, show the notice “Referring the transaction to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs” and complete the procedures necessary for obtaining a labour entry visa

7. New Work Permit Place of Service Delivery The new work permit application shall be submitted to the printing offices, service centers “Tas’heel” or establishments participating in the Ministry’s e-forms program.
