The Struggles and Limitations of the Civil Rights Movement in America

The fight for civil rights faced significant challenges, undermined by pervasive discrimination and racism. From the Civil War through the 1960s, the effectiveness of the movement was hindered by internal discord and governmental opposition. The journey was fraught with turbulence, both among activists and within state institutions, leading to a less cohesive effort. Despite the passionate advocacy for equality, the civil rights movement encountered obstacles that limited its success, revealing the complex interplay of social justice and systemic racism.
