ABOUT THE POET • Name : William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) • Profession : Poet, playwright, novelist and senator of the • Irish Free State, 1922-1928 • Place of Birth : Dublin, Ireland • Founded the Abbey Theatre in Dublin • Awarded the nobel Prize for Literature in 1923 • Some of his works include, The Countess Cathleen,(1892), • The Land of Heart’s Desire (1894), The Wild Swans At • Cook (1917), and The Winding Stair (1929)

  3. B. THE BACKGROUND SETTING OF THE POEM The poet expresses a desire to return to live on he beautiful Isle o Innisfree. He claims that the nature on the isle is compatible to his temperament.

  4. C. THE PARAPHRASES Stanza 1 The poet wants to go to Innisfree and stay there in a small Cabin. He will spend his time keeping honey bees. Stanza 2 h poet claims that the beautiful scenery on the Isle of Innisfree will give him peace. Stanza 3 The poet loves the Lake Isle of Innisfree so much that he is always thinking of going back there.
