  3. The expedition started at the windmill car park and travelled east down Windmill Road. The Plain to the south was observed to be greatly waterlogged due to recent heavy rain. The expedition turned south-west down Bluegate Ride until it reached Somerset Ride. The stretch of Bluegate Ride between Windmill Road and Somerset Ride was named Pertinax Path by HIH Crown Prince Jonathan, after the Emperor who took power 1820 years ago to the day. The expedition went south down Parkside then north-west up Memorial Ride, which was extremely muddy.

  4. Then travelling north up Inner Windmill Road, the expedition walked past and through several huge puddles before arriving back at the windmill for refreshments. One of the walkers decided not to participate in the second part of the expedition, which set of west and walked to Queensmere. After observing swans and admiring the view, the expedition walked anticlockwise around the pond until it reached the northernmost side of the water, and walked the short distance from there to Stag Ride. Queensmere, was named Bette Bridge by the Crown Prince in memory of his grandmother who had passes away two and a half months earlier, and he named the ditch itself Daniel Ditch on the occasion of the eighteenth birthday of the former First Midget Master. The expedition walked south-west down Stag Ride until a war memorial was seen to the north-west, and then walked in a south-easterly direction through woodland until it emerged on the golf course, walking east on the main path until it reached a memorial to the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.

The expedition continued on to Inner Windmill Road, with the Crown Prince naming the point at which Somerset Ride joins Inner Windmill Road the Eritoshi Junction after the Countess of Memphis, and a nearby stream the Romanos IV Diogenes Stream after the Emperor who ascended to the Eastern throne 945 years ago to the day. The expedition then walked north up the road back to the windmill, from which they departed, with the extended Imperial Family driving to The George restaurant in Modern for a post-expedition meal.
