PROBLEMS OF PRESENT LIBRARY • The size of the library building is fixed. • No provision for extension of the room. • Each Shelf accommodates around 300 books. • If we want to accommodate 10000 books, we need 30 Shelves, which themselves occupy half of the library hall
SOLUTION • Store data in electronic form. • Storing 200 pages book in electronic form needs around 800KB memory. So storing 10,000 books ,computer needs around 8GB. Now a days every computer is provided with huge amount of memory in GB’s
ADVANTAGES • Books can be accessed easily and rapidly • Stores much more information in very little space. • The amount of money spent on digital libraries is very less. • Users need not go to library. This can be access through internet . Information is available round the clock.

They can be downloaded. • Most of the Hindi and English novels are available in e form. • Every year we can download CBSE curriculum. • Most of the magazines and periodicals are available in e form.
