  3. Be on time • Better to be early – kill time • Don’t make the interviewer wait • Strive for 5 - 10 minutes early. • Don’t go in earlier than 10 minutes. • The interviewer has other appointments. • Don’t want to make them feel rushed. • Stop and use the restroom before you arrive

  4. GROOMING • No body piercing • Cover tattoos • Males: No long hair • Males: Facial hair well groomed • Avoid strong cologne/perfume • Fresh Breath

  5. Attire • No T-shirts • Pull-Over shirt w/collar • Button Down Shirt • Khakis • Suit • Well pressed jeans • No holes • No sandals or flip flops • Avoid big/gaudy jewelry

  6. Speech • Avoid poor grammar • Avoid slang • Avoid “uhm”, “okay”, “uh”, “like”, “so”, “and”… • Use respectful words: • Yes, sir / ma’am • No, sir / ma’am • No thank you / Please / Thank you • Thank you for your time. • I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  7. Job Interviews • You have 5 minutes. • Write at least 5 questions you think you would be asked on an interview. • Pass out copy of “Commonly Asked Interview Questions” • You have 2 minutes to read over the handout. • Number off 1’s & 2’s • 1’s are Interviewers: 2’s are the Candidates • Practice interviewing each other.
