Research and accurately represent the conflicts/tone of the Deep South during the Great Depression… • Research the period by watching the PBS special on the Scottsboro trials (many scholars believe that Harper Lee based the second half of her novel off these events). • Create a “stand alone” PowerPoint presentation depicting your findings. By “stand alone”, I mean that your presentation should need no explanation, nor a physical presentation by you. Research Project – The Task
Choose a message for your slide show/PowerPoint. • Include in your presentation… • Sound/music that fits the message of your work. The music can change from slide to slide or continue throughout. • Five quotes from the video on the trial. Make sure that your quotes are from the beginning, middle, and end of the video. • Five quotes from To Kill a Mocking Bird • Pictures: Each quote should have a matching/representative picture. Your completed work will look like a slide show. If you choose, you may use any other format that we have in school that will produce the same results. The PowerPoint Presentation – Slide Show
