  2. Capitolio Nacional One of Havana's grandest pieces of architecture, the Capitolio is an important landmark and one of Centro Havana's major sights. It is resembled after our Capitol building and one was used for Cuba’s Congress. Today it is home to the National Library and Academy of Sciences, and many of its rooms are still used for state events.

  3. El Museo De Ciudad El Museo De Ciudad was opened in 1691 and was home to Havana’s first governor/ruler, Gonzalo Perez de Angelo ,during colonial time. They have preserved most of the statues in the courtyard and have replecated the plants and wildlife. They have artifacts from colonial times. they will be having an interesting exhibit on Gold-Mining and the history of it in Havana. They have a movie room about the interesting past of Havana and how it went un-noticed for most of Colonial times.

  4. Partagas Partagas is one of the main factories in all of Cuba for one of it’s most famous exports, Cigars. The art of Cigar making is ancient in Cuba and goes back to the early 1800’s. Don Jaime Partagás was one of the best Cigar makers of his time and donated his name to a multi million company. Partagas has opened up factories in many other Spanish Speaking Countries such as Bolivia, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.

  5. La Plaza de Revolucion La Plaza de Revolucion is one of the world biggest plazas. It is a historic one too. It has two giant memorials to Jose Marti. Jose Marti was a young child who devoted his adolescence (most of his life) to secure the freedom of Cuba from Spain and America. He traveled frequently to many countries telling the of how America and Spain were trying to take over Cuba.

  6. Fun Facts • The official name of Cuba is the “Republic of Cuba.” • Cuba is a communist country. • Raul Castro now rules Cuba. • Spanish is the official language of Cuba, though many people speak English.
