Transforming Playland into Workland: Enhancing Learning Environments for Student Success

This journey documents the transformation of an overwhelming, stimulus-rich classroom into a brain-friendly learning environment. Guided by insights from our school Occupational Therapist, steps were taken to reduce distractions, optimize sensory areas, and reorganize play zones for improved focus. Changes included minimizing moving elements, softening lighting, and reconfiguring storage. The result furthers both student engagement and functionality in the classroom, illustrating the positive impact of intentional design changes. Join me, Brenda Van Enkevort, on this path to create a supportive space for learning and growth.
