  2. What is the importance of Dream Interpretation? • Dreams are important in every way imaginable • First of all, the word dream is mentioned 74 times in the bible and variations of dream are mentioned 47 more times. • It must be important to God for Him to mention it so many times.

  3. Importance of Dreams • This is a list of benefits of having and understanding your dreams. • Emotional healing, comfort, warning, encouragement, instruction, wisdom, direction, safety, help, intercession, warfare, impartation/anointing, prophetic, and discovery/revelation. • We will take a look at each type.

  4. History of Dreams • History records many major dreams of consequence. • Dreams were significant in the lives of Jacob, Joseph, Daniel, Gideon, Solomon, the wise men and Joseph the father of Jesus. • Many historical figures including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, etc. had powerful dreams.

  6. Lincoln’s Dreams • He also dreamed of his son who had died young. • He dreamed of his own assassination.

  7. Benjamin Rush’s dream • In 1809, Benjamin Rush dreamed that John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would become friends again and would die on the same day, July 4, 1826. At the time, they were mortal enemies. They later reconciled and everything in the dream happened with perfect accuracy.

  8. Emotional Healing • Emotional Wounds, Traumas, Addictions, broken relationships, insecurities, etc. need to healed. Our Dreams many times are God’s Process of restoration and healing for the broken emotions in our life. • Examples – Dad’s dream of a hospital • - Train dream • - Childhood dreams

  9. Comfort Dreams • Many times God is trying to comfort us in our distresses. • Example – the broken-headed dog dream • Dream of my Mom • Others

  10. Warning Dreams • Most people see and understand this aspect of dreams. These are not set events but display a possible bad outcome that can avoided by applying wisdom. • Baby in the bathtub • Carson running off the edge of a roof • Balancing a telephone pole • Hot water heater

  11. Encouragement Dreams • These are dreams that depict something good happening as the result of your actions. This is frequently a prophetic message of your future. • Preaching before many people, miracles, healings, seeing your family serving God, Jesus appearing, angels helping, etc.

  12. Instruction/Wisdom • This is probably the most common. God shows you in a scenario where you choose a course of action or see someone choose a course of action. This can be an instruction. • Bicycle ahead of father, being pulled over by policeman without hat, “He is waiting on you”,

  13. Prophetic Dreams • It not uncommon to dream of future events. These can be tricky because you may want interpret them as figurative when they will depict an actual event unfolding. • Forrest R Dream, Carson dream, David K fork truck dream • They still have some figurative meaning

  14. Intercession/Warfare • When you are going through a spiritual battle, you can gain key insights into how to secure the victory. • Nazi’s in my house, giant in my house, car accident-gun battle, explosion

  15. Impartation/Anointing • Sometimes you will dream that you are being prayed for or you are praying for others. Since you are in the Spirit Realm in a dream, your prayer are working and you are receiving prayers. • Stair dreams Todd B, Paul K. D.

  16. Revelation/Discovery Dreams • Sometimes God will reveal information only He could know about a situation. These can be also be tricky because they may look like it needs interpretation when they are literal. When you know something in a dream and don’t know how you know, this is frequently a Holy Spirit Revelation. • Dream about church with Witchcraft.

  17. My own mistakes • Dream Interpretation will require a life time of learning to increase your accuracy and understanding. Here is one of my mistakes. • Dancing Dream
