  2. To provide 99.9% wireless service allowing passengers to stay connected throughout their use of the NM Rail Runner train transportation system and stations. Implement a wireless system that is flexible and scalable as the service area for the Rail Runner expands. Future capabilities may eventually include services as ticket vending, ticket verification, failover operations communications, emergency phones, video displays on both the trains and the platforms, and video surveillance equipment. Objective:

  4. Progress: • Contract Extended to February 29, 2012 • Contractor will: • reengineer wireless network for optimization and for compliance with FCC regulations • replace radios and antennas as needed • build additional towers as needed • NMDOT to Test and Accept System 4
