  1. BIOMA Sono ambienti naturali caratterizzati da tipi di vegetazione prevalente (flora) e da una certa fauna. A seconda del clima sulla superficie terrestre troviamo biomi o regioni naturali diverse.

  2. Macchia • Tipica del Mediterraneo, della California e delle coste meridionali dell’Australia. • Clima con inverni miti e piovosi ed estati calde e secche. • Vegetazione costituita da: querce, pino marittimo, ulivo, leccio, sottobosco con pungitopo, arbusti di rosmarino, timo,oleandro e ginestre. • Animali più comuni: cinghiali, daini, caprioli, conigli, lepri, uccelli, insetti e rettili.

  3. Ambiente polare • Tipico dei ghiacciai del Polo Nord e Sud. • Clima con temperature bassissime, ghiacciai perenni e lunghe notti in inverno. • Vegetazione assente esistono solo pochi licheni, muschi e alghe terrestri. • Animali più comuni: pinguini, trichechi, foche, otarie, balene e balenottere.
