  1. Speaking activity 1 Work in pairs. Student A will tell student B a situation in which B can use the expressions at the end of page 96. B will say the expression aloud. You 2 will take turns doing this. Ex. Expression: Would it be OK if I left a bit early today? A: You are in class. But something urgent happen suddenly and you have to leave at once. What can you say to the teacher? B: Would it be OK if I left a bit early today?

  2. Speaking activity 2 • Work in groups of 3. Choose and discuss 1 of the following questions: 1. What do you think dreams tell you? 2. What if there was no gravity any longer? 3. Would it better or worse when there’s less rainfall? Why? 4. Describe a star you’ve ever seen through a telescope.

  3. Speaking activity 3 • Work in pairs. Role play a brief conversation to complain about the following things: a leather jacket, email, boots, ordering by phone, a bookcase, a TV programme, a dishwasher, an exam. Each pair works out 3 role plays. • Ex. complain about an exam • A: Hey, how was the exam? • B: Ooops. I could kick myself. Just when I handed my paper in, I realized a mistake in it. • A: Well, I hate it when that happens. • B: But that’s the way it is.
