A Day in the Life • Preparation • Guest speakers: Barbara Avner and Scott Klear • Collect materials • Sample menus • Word walls with terms about diabetes. • Action • Barbara Avner will explain what diabetes is and how diabetes is treated. • Scott Klear will explain what it is like to have diabetes. • Students will read a journal about what it would be like to live with diabetes. • Students will write a reflection on the journal. • Students will design diabetes friendly menus. • Reflection • Students write a reflection about what they learned and why it is important to raise money to help cure diabetes.

  3. Demonstration/Celebration A representative from JDRF will attend our walk and we will present a check to them.
