This module equips trainees with essential skills for educating patients effectively. By the end, participants will be able to identify at least ten key issues requiring patient education and recognize valuable community services for cooperation. The training includes a short lecture on patient education methods, case discussions, and a practical assessment where trainees prepare a presentation on managing specific conditions, such as back pain. This training aims to enhance patient outcomes through informed education and collaboration.

1. OBJECTIVES At the end of the module the trainee should be able to: • List at last 10 problems which need patient education • Identify community services important for cooperation • To value the methods of education with the others
2.RESOURCES • Teacher • Library • Internet • Cases-copies • Other students
3.METHODS (AND TIMETABLE) • Short lecture ( 10 min. ) (For example: How to educate a patient with low back pain problems ) • Case problem with discussion – Problem oriented learning ( 45 min. ) • Listing of references ( 5 min. )
4.ASSESMENT • Trainee should prepare a presentaton “How to manage and how to live with back pain” ( 5 min. ) • Trainee should show practicaly how to deal with certain problem ( to lift an heavy object) – may be at the same time as presentation ( 5 minutes )
