Torrevieja It’s a city located in the province of Alicante. It’s in the south east of Spain, and it is a seaside city. It is located on Costa Blanca.
Torrevieja has 20 km of coast, highlighting the beaches of La Mata, Los Locos, El Cura, El Acequión o Los Náufragos.
Its population is about 104.000 inhabitants, which are distributed in the city and La Mata. • Most of the inhabitants come from UK, Germany and Russia. They are retired or they have their second home here. Norwegians, Swedish, Irish and other nationalities are represented in Torrevieja.
Torrevieja has a huge salt lake. The salt is removed from there. They formed big mountains of salt that seem snow but it’s salt!
It has a lake called La Mata. You can visit the lake and watch its animals and plants. Flamingoes live in the lake. There is a vineyard in this part of the country side and they produce a typical wine.
Torrevieja has an awesome weather during the whole year. It’s a sunny place to live, but it’s very wet too. There is an average of 350 sunny days per year. In winter the weather is warm and it’s not as cold as in other parts of Spain.
In summer the weather is very hot but we can go to the beach. October and April are the rainy months.
