The George Washington & Jefferson National Forests employ a structured review process for non-routine proposals, which are defined as projects costing $2,500 or more that significantly alter recreation areas or trails. The District Ranger assesses the proposal's routine status and engages the Forest Recreation and Engineering Staff Officers for a thorough evaluation. The Excellence by Design (EBD) Team reviews all planning and design aspects, ensuring compliance with requirements. Modifications and documentation of the proposal process are managed to address any identified concerns effectively, promoting enhanced recreational experiences.
