Established in 1859, the Galter Health Sciences Library has witnessed significant growth and transformation. From the construction of the Montgomery Ward building in 1925 to becoming one of the largest dental libraries in the 1930s, the library constantly evolved. Key milestones include the automation of library systems in 1986 and the acquisition of leading online resources like MEDLINE in 1993, emphasizing collaboration and technological advances. Today, under Director James Shedlock, the focus is on personalized service, workspace optimization, and the future of data management and open access.
