  1. This Woman’s Disease (and Our “Disease”) • A chronic hemorrhaging “flow/issue of blood” (Mk. 5:25) • 12 years in duration • Wasting disease (her strength & money, Lk. 8:43b; Mk 5:26) • Deemed incurable by physicians • By law, this disease rendered her unclean (Lev. 15:19-27) • Disease called “affliction/plague” (Mk. 5:29, 34) • Compare this disease with the disease of SIN – Are you determined to be made well?

  2. This Woman’s Faith (and Our “Faith”) • “She heard about Jesus” (Mk. 5:27) – all physicians failed • “If only I may touch…” (5:28; cf. 6:56) – yearned to be healed • “Be made well” (5:28) = saved, delivered, preserved • She came from behind (5:27) – humility • She made contact & touched garment (5:27) • Immediately the blood stopped & she felt healed (5:29) • Immediately Jesus knew power had gone out (5:30; Lk. 8:46) • Jesus willed His power to a touch of faith • Compare this with your FAITH – Are you determined to be made well?

  3. This Woman’s Confession (and Our “Confession”) • “Who touched Me?” (5:30) – He looked around (5:32) • Peter & disciples respond – “multitude thronging You” • The question of Jesus was not for info • The question of Jesus was to test her faith & teach a lesson • She made a confession of fear, humility & openness (Lk. 8:47) • She confessed the action, reason & immediate result (Lk. 8:47) • Compare her confession with your daily CONFESSION – Are you determined to be made well?

  4. This Woman’s Blessing (and Our “Blessing”) • Jesus called her, “Daughter” (Mk. 5:34) • “Your faith has made you well” = saved, delivered • “Go in peace” • Continue to “be healed of your affliction/plague” • Compare her blessing with your BLESSING –Are you determined to be made well?
