  1. Case Studies on Corporate Ethics Case 1 Mr. Subhash is a film producer and has good number of films on his credit. At present he is busy with one multi starrer thriller movie. The leading actor Arjun who has well reputation at Box Office has signed for two years and Subhash is happy about his role. The other characters like the actress Shruti, the comedian Shakti and other minor characters too are important in making of the movie. However, Subhash has not signed any bond from them. When they came to know that the actor Arjun has been assigned as per the bond they felt that they have been cheated by the producer. Even they complained him that he is giving partial treatment to them and not sharing the facts. When Shruti complained to the producer about his impartial treatment he got angry and warned her not to create a scene over that matter. The day onwards Shruti did not turn up for the shooting. It became challenging now for the producer to manage shooting without actress. Arjun too became fed up since he had to wait for others at the studio. The day arrived when Arjun did not want to continue with this production. He was signed for fifty lakh of which 20 lakh was already paid. The producer asked Arjun to return the amount of 20 lakh since he is not going to work with the production. However, Arjun is reluctant to return the whole amount . He argued that he wasted his two months time with the movie production. He even advised the producer that he is ready to work with him if he starts making the movie. 1.What is your opinion about the film producer? 2.Is Arjun’s behaviour ethical in this case? Justify 3.Discuss the whole case and give solutions to overcome the conflict Case 2 Mr. Vivek is a post graduate in science and pursuing Ph.D. He has good academic record and has recently joined one Science College in Hyderabad as a lecturer on contractual basis. Since the post is contractual he is paid less and he too neglects the salary issue since he has not qualified Ph.D. After a month or two Vivek noticed that some faculty are paid well though they have not completed Ph.D. To his surprise he found that some who even not registered for Ph.D are favoured by the management. He felt very sad that even after his good academic achievements he is cheated and became a victim of the management policy. Since he is new in the city he does not want to create any issue with the college. He decided to resign from the post next month. On the same day he receives a letter from the university that his submitted thesis received a positive remark and very soon he will face his Ph.D Viva –voce. 1.What is your viewpoint towards Vivek? 2.Discuss the whole case and give your suggestions to improve ethical behaviour at the organization
