Identifying Different Shelter Types through Pictures

In this interactive activity, you will examine a series of pictures featuring various types of shelters. Your task is to carefully observe the characteristics of each shelter and choose the answer you believe is most appropriate. You will encounter prompts and feedback, including hints to guide you as you learn to distinguish between vaulted huts, sleeping platforms, shade houses, and more. If you finish early, partner up and challenge each other by drawing a shelter for the other to identify, focusing on details that make each shelter unique.

  16. Great job! It wasn’t a peak-roofed house because it did not have walls coming to the roof. It is a basic shelter on the ground which means it has to be a shade house.

  17. Fast Finishers If you have completed all of the activities, find a partner in the room who also has and try drawing a humpy for them to guess. Remember to put in detail, it is the detail that helps people to know what sort of humpy it is.
