  3. Shelter • Under trees (not in trees) They had some climbing abilities, but they spent all or mostof their time on the ground. • In tall grass • Under rock overhangs • Not in caves, because they had no weapons to protect themselves

  5. Tools • Very few tools • Hands • Sticks • Rocks • Could not hunt because no weapons

  6. Extras • Occasionally scavenged • Southern Ape • 1974 most complete • skeleton was found, Lucy • Named after a Beatles song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” • Could walk upright
