  2. Review #1: ~Spirit-filled Prophesying~

  3. Flashback… Act 2:17-18 "When the last days come, I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will have dreams. In those days I will give my Spirit to my servants, both men and women, and they will prophesy.

  4. Here is a thought rewind: A life filled with the Spirit does not leave much room for a life filled with sin, self, and Satan.

  5. Review #2: ~Spirit-filled Living~

  6. Eph 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.

  7. Principle #1… Being filled with the Spirit should be a natural and expected evidence of one’s relationship with God and Christ.

  8. Are you ready for… …Spirit-filled Ministry?

  9. 1Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profitof all:

  10. Manifestation: From G5319; exhibition, that is, (figuratively) expression, (by extension) a bestowment: - manifestation.

  11. Holy Spirit… • He creates and gives life. • He reproves. • He comforts. • He helps our infirmities. • He teaches. • He guides. • He testifies of Christ. • He glorifies Christ. • He dwells with saints. • He convicts • He strengthens • He can be grieved. •  He can be vexed.  He can be resisted. • He can be tempted.

  12. Profit: From G4862 and G5342 (including its alternate); to bear together (contribute), that is, (literally) to collect, or (figuratively) to conduce; especially (neuter participle as noun) advantage: - be better for, bring together, be expedient (for), be good, (be) profit (-able for).

  13. Here is a question… Where are you in your spirit at the moment? personal edification or people edification.

  14. Gal 5:22 - 23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:

  15. Principle #1: One of the major strengths of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring the people together.

  16. Modern translation… 1Co 12:7 Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people!

  17. The REVELATION Gifts God revealing information supernaturally to a man or woman – information from outside the bounds of that person’s natural processes.

  18. 1Co 12:8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit

  19. Word of Wisdom It is the revelation of something that has not yet come to pass.

  20. Consider these verses… 1Co 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

  21. 1Co 2:9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"—

  22. 1Co 2:10 But God has revealedthem to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

  23. 1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

  24. Spirit of the world Fortune-tellers, crystal-ball gazers, Ouija boards, tea-leaf readers, palm readers, black magic, witchcraft, voodoo, and all the other paraphernalia that the devil uses to deceive people of our generation.

  25. Power verses… 1Co 2:14 The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can't receive the gifts of God's Spirit. There's no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit--God's Spirit and our spirits in open communion.

  26. 1Co 2:15 Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God's Spirit is doing, and can't be judged by unspiritual critics.

  27. Paul gives a word of wisdom… Act 27:21-22 But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, "Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.

  28. Paul gives another word of wisdom… 1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.

  29. Principle #2: The wisdom of God for your future helps to alter what you do in your present.

  30. Work out the Word: Let’s put it to the test…

  31. 1Co 12:8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit

  32. Word of Knowledge It is the revelation of something that exists in the past or the present.

  33. Word of Knowledge revealed to Elijah… 1Ki 19:14 He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

  34. 1Ki 19:18 Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him."

  35. Principle #3: The knowledge that God reveals is for the purpose of saving your life and your living.

  36. Work out the Word: Let’s put it to the test…

  37. 1Co 12:10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

  38. Discerning of spirits It is the divine ability to see the presence and activity of a spirit that motivates a human being – good or bad.

  39. Three areas of operation: • Divine • Demonic • Human or natural

  40. Expanded truth… It produces a real spirit of security against false doctrines, lies, and all kinds of things that are unreal.

  41. John 1:47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false."

  42. Ananias and Sapphira story… Act 5:1-4 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."

  43. Principle #4: The discerning of spirits will reveal those motives that will block your blessings.

  44. Work out the Word: Let’s put it to the test…

  45. Pray… Let’s become a spirit-filled body who see God move in the power of the Holy Spirit today!
