The Hippo and the Scarab Bettle. Once in the Nile River, there was a hippo that caught a scarab beetle as it was about to drown. His head was just below the water when the hippo scooped him up. . “Thanks mighty hippo!” the scarab beetle called up to him “I will try to repay your kindness!”.

  2. Once in the Nile River, there was a hippo that caught a scarab beetle as it was about to drown. His head was just below the water when the hippo scooped him up.

  3. “Thanks mighty hippo!” the scarab beetle called up to him “I will try to repay your kindness!” “You?” the hippo boomed “You’re molecular, small, and puny!”

  4. The next day The hippo was wading in the water when a dead palm tree fell onto the hippo.

  5. The hippo, his friend the jackal, and the turtle struggled to get the palm tree off of him. None of them could pull it off.

  6. Then the scarab asked to try. Everyone laughed, because he was so small. Ha hahaha !

  7. But the scarab beetle tried anyway. They didn’t know he was magic. He lifted the palm tree off with his mind. Everyone liked him and respected him.
