  1. Staying Present in the PresencePart 2

  2. Luke 4:1-2 1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert,2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

  3. Luke 4:3-5 3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." 4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone.'" 5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.

  4. Luke 4:6-8 6 And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 So if you worship me, it will all be yours." 8 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'"

  5. Luke 4:9-10 9 The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;

  6. Luke 4:11-13 11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" 12 Jesus answered, "It says: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'” 13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

  7. Psalm91:11-12 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

  8. Psalm91:9-10 9 If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

  9. Genesis 3:6 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

  10. 1 John2:16 (KJV) 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

  11. 1.Thelust of the flesh.

  12. 1 John2:16a 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh,

  13. 2. The lust of the eyes.

  14. 1 John2:16b (KJV) 16 … and the lust of the eyes,

  15. 3. Thepride of life.

  16. 1 John2:16c (KJV) 16 … and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

  17. Hebrews 4:14-15 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.

  18. Hebrews 4:16 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
