  7. Statement of Deliverables Introduction Banner/header – A clean banner/header in which displays their logo, company name, and mission statement. Includes different images of work to be displayed inside the banner and header, if generated using Flash/Javascript it will be out of scope. A simple image gallery – An image gallery displaying their recent work. If the gallery is generated using Flash or Javascript, it will be out of scope. Informative pages (i.e. About, Services, News, etc..) – Pages displaying the clients line of work, what their company is about, any recent news they may wish to share with potential or existing clients. A logo – The client’s logo. The scope for this will be defined by whether or not the client can supply me with it. If A contact form – a method for users to send you messages directly from the website.
  8. Communication Plan Keep in touch with Client via phone and email, will always follow up phone calls with an email for validation purposes. Client prefers emails. Only speaking to the main person in regards to making decisions. Revised: I have discovered in communicating with my client via email, that if I asked too many questions, he will only answer one or two at most. I now need to re-evaluate the questions I decide to ask first and give a 24 hour turn around before asking another question. He does communicate via phone, but again, I will follow up with an email to ensure he understands what we’ve discussed.
  9. Implementing Changes to Project Refer to the statement of scope first. If there is an item that needs to added, discuss with client about duration creep/scope creep and increase in budget. May need to discuss the option of finishing the project as planned, and then adding any other changes within a secondary project, after the first one is completed. Notify all stakeholders of any changes by carbon copying them in an email. Discuss with Cliff and Peter if the changes are in scope.
  10. Statement of Work Graphic Designer – the person to design the initial prototype/mock-up of the layout. If need be, a person to design the logo as well. xHTML/CSS programmer – the person to code the layout and content for the website. Photographer – someone to take pictures of their work as the client does general contracting. Photo Editor – a person to ensure the images taken are Web ready, and are suitable for the website; ensures the images clearly displays the work, removes any flaws that may appear on the images as well as watermark the images with the clients logo. End Users – a group of people who will browse the website and make sure it functions properly (no broken links, images etc..) as well as the functionality of it (can they find what they’re looking for in 2 clicks or less). Quality assurance. Researcher – a person to help gather information on the industry, benchmark analysis.
  11. Statement of Context After much research into this field, I found that the industry is very competitive. Golden Eagle General Contracting does work for larger corporations; in this case they need to prove their credibility. As a general contractor they have much more to prove as to why they should be hired to do the work needed instead of another company who just specializes in that single particular field. They are currently looking for a website to display what their company does, and to inform potential clients of the different types of contracting jobs they offer. They would like the website to have a personal yet business feel to it. They are currently looking to branch out into the interior design field as well, so the website should inform their current clients of this change. (To be OMITTED) As my client is in a service field already, I can potentially see my client being in parent mode. This could cause delays in the work flow as things he may want done may not be in scope for this assignment and we may need to figure out alternatives. Currently, he states he is the one to be making the final decisions but upon further research, I can see there may be a hidden stakeholder, his partner Mr. John Pantalone. This may also cause delay in the workflow as they might not have a middle ground to meet on. Revised: After several emails and phone calls, I have discovered that my client is in parent mode. My client understands the time constraint we have, and was/is willing to work with me to get his site complete for the deadline that I have set.
  12. The workflow protocol is going to be in three (3) phases. It is a shallow prototype/mock-up as I fear there will be issues with the hidden stakeholder as well as his parental mode. Work Flow Protocol Revised: As I revised the work flow protocol, I’ve decided to choose the “Rapid Prototyping [Spiral] Model”. This model gives me lots of flexibility from start to finish. As my client has many ideas as he would like to share, if we need to go back and address or change anything we can. As the project continues to move forward, we can also build on past ideas, opportunities to go backwards to see the steps to achieve the final product will be possible.
