  2. Dig • A dig (D) is awarded to a player whenever a player passes the ball which has been attacked by the opposition. Digs are only given when players receive an attacked ball and it is kept in play • The pass or play of any ball which is attacked, is awarded a Dig. The ball can be kept in play on the digger’s side of the net or can be dug over the net to the opponent's side.

  3. Ball Handling Error • (BHE)- is a call made by the official which ends play. • A player is charged with a BHE whenever an official calls: • A double hit • A thrown ball • A lifted ball

  4. Exceptions • The exceptions for a ball handling error are: • A lift called on a serve reception is a serve reception error not a BHE • A thrown ball during an attack is an Attack error • A thrown ball during a block is a blocking error

  5. Blocking • A Block is awarded to a player whenever a player, or players, blocks the ball into the opponent’s court leading directly to a point. There are 3 possible outcomes when a player, or players, block.

  6. Blocking • The player, or players, are credited with a successful SOLO BLOCK or BLOCK ASSIST. • The player is charged with a blocking error • The attack attempt is deflected off the blocker’s hands and is kept in play by one of the teams. No documentation on the worksheet is required for this play in regards to blocking

  7. Block Solo • A BLOCK SOLO (BS) is awarded to a player whenever that players blocks the ball into the opposition’s court leading directly to a point and that player is the only person attempting to block that attack.

  8. Block Assist • A BLOCK ASSIST (BA) is awarded whenever a block occurs and two or three players are involved in the attempt to block the attack. Each player receives a BLOCK ASSIST even if only one player actually touches the ball.

  9. Blocking Errors • (BE) • A blocker touches the net • A blocker is called for a center line violation • A back row player is called for blocking the ball • A blocker is called for reaching over the net
